Nanaimo Golf Club re-opened the golf course on April 18 to members only. The Clubhouse and Pro Shop remain closed until further notice.

We have implemented a number of protocols to aid in the health, safety and enjoyment of players and employees while on the property. We ask that all people visiting Nanaimo Golf Club during this time observe the protocols that the Club has put into place for your safety.

COVID-19 Protocols for NGC

  • All players MUST sign an online liability waiver prior to golfing at the Club (available on the website's Member Central page). Members under the age of 19 must have a parent or legal guardian sign in person; contact General Manager Ryan Woods to arrange this.
  • Stay at home if you or anyone in your household have symptoms of COVID-19 or feel sick in any manner at all.
  • Stay at home if you have traveled within the last 14 days.
  • Stay in your car until 16 minutes before your tee-time; players will be allocated 8 minutes at the driving range or chipping green, and 8 minutes at the practice putting green.
  • Follow all established traffic-control patterns at the Club, including parking your car 2 spaces apart.
  • Enter the course via the pathway between the Pro Shop and driving range.
  • Practise physical distancing by ALWAYS staying a minimum of 2 meters away from other people especially while on the course. Do not shake hands or high-five/fist bump to celebrate.
  • Wash your hands at the handwashing station by the main entrance upon your arrival, and again at the handwashing station near the 18th green before you leave the course.
  • Tee times are at 10-minute intervals, and will change to 8-minute intervals on May 23. Please maintain this gap while on the course.
  • The driving range and practice greens are open for member pre-round warm-up only.
  • Observe proper golf etiquette. Players will not be allowed to play past the group in front.
  • Leave the flagstick in the hole while putting, and use the Golf Ball E-Z Lyft system with your putter to lift your ball out of the hole.
  • Golf cart rentals are available for single riders only.
  • Rickshaws are available and sanitized after each use; be sure to leave them in the designated area—do NOT take them into the parking lot.
  • Power-caddy storage is again available; only one person is allowed in the storage room at a time.
  • No bag service or storage is available. Once you remove your clubs from storage, you must take them with you.
  • Do not loiter in the parking lot before or after your round. All members must leave the golf course within 15 minutes of finishing their round of golf.
  • Do not sit or socialize at the Halfway House.
  • Do not enter any buildings (except bathrooms) on the course.
  • All on-course washrooms are open, and only one person is allowed in a bathroom at a time.
  • Bring your own PPE devices (e.g., wipes, sanitizer and mask) if you see the need. We will be doing active sanitization around the course and in high-touch areas.
  • Member golf lessons and club-fitting are available again; speak with the Pro Shop for details.
  • Food and beverage service is available at Mike's Place/Halfway House daily from 9am to 6pm (weather permitting), subject to special menu and ordering procedures (available on the website's Member Central page).
  • Take-out food and beverage service is available from noon to 7pm, Wednesday through Sunday for both members and the public. Visit the Take-Out page for details.
